What is the D.P.R.H.?
-The D.P.R.H. is a MICRONATION, meaning "small, self-proclaimed entities that claim to be independent sovereign states but which are not acknowledged as such by any recognized sovereign state, or by any supranational organization".
-Our government style is technically named a Democratic People's Republic, but very little about the structure is Democratic in nature. Mr. Honish acts as Supreme President, Ruler, Emperor and Dictator (S.P.R.E.A.D. for short) and all government programs, policies and decisions come from him. Whether he decides to give the citizens any say in those matters or not is also up to him. One student will assume the role of Vice Chancellor, but the position has no true authority or power. -The economy of the D.P.R.H. uses Achievement Points as currency. Citizens can earn Achievement Points through a number of games, challenges and events throughout class. Achievement Points can be spent to help your class in ClassComp, or give yourself some personal benefits. A constantly evolving list of items, powers and access gives prices and availability. Students can track their AP account on our class leaderboard. |
Where is the D.P.R.H.?
The D.P.R.H. is located within the borders of the United States but acts as a completely independent micronation.
The micronation was originally founded at the absolute location of (42.55N, 89.02W), also known as Room 17 of Turner Middle School in Beloit, Wisconsin.
The boundaries were re-drawn and the government moved its operations in the summer of 2018 to (43.18N, 89.45W), also known as Room 129 of Waunakee Community Middle School in Waunakee, WI.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, citizens abandoned the physical micronation and carried out their duties from remote locations, but were never to return to the D.P.R.H. again as it's boundaries once again shifted to (43.24N, 89.33W), also known as Room 11 of DeForest Area Middle School.
With renovations underway throughout DeForest Area Middle School in the summer of 2021, the short-lived stay within Room 11 ended and new physical boundaries were created slightly southwest in the new room 805.
Beginning in the fall of 2023, the physical boundaries moved to the northwest section of the middle school in room 728.

Fast Facts about the D.P.R.H.
Constitution: The official Constitution of the Democratic People's Republic of Honishlandia was penned on the Eve of Spring Conferences, 3/11/2019. The Constitution was written to assure all citizens had an equal right to safety, respect and integrity while also affirming the nation's dedication to a process-oriented approach. It was a decidedly Democratic gesture by his Supreme Lordship, as historians maintain he could have brought down an iron fist to crush the disorganized paper air raid by 8th hour, the culmination of what is now known as the failed Pre-Spring-Break-Monday Rebellion. The Constitution was ratified by signature of all citizens of the D.P.R.H. beginning 3/12/2019 with the intent to renew its solemn vows each September. The Constitution can be read HERE
Bottom Line: Be safe, be respectful, be responsible, and try. |
|
Salute: Any official interactions between citizens of the D.P.R.H. and Supreme President Ruler Emperor and Dictator Honish will include the official D.P.R.H. salute, which begins with a basic salute hand position, but concludes with a motion moving your hand upward and making a "whpppshhhh" noise (like when his Supreme Lordship needs everyone's attention and raises his hand in a class).
Call and Response: When all citizens must direct their attention to his Supreme Excellency, he will call out "TWO-OH" to which citizens respond with their anticipated year of graduation... an example being the 2023-24 7th grade class responding with "TWO-NINE!"
National Sport: Honish's Hoops Hysteria is officially the national sport of the D.P.R.H. but other sports are still played and watched. Our Glorious Leader particularly enjoys playing in games against his citizens in basketball, volleyball, kickball and dodgeball, almost always claiming victory in the process (unless he tears his Achilles).
Sworn Enemies: Previously, the DPRH has found itself at odds with other, often loosely established and unofficial classroom micronations. One of these micronations was "Mairyland" which was hastily thrown together in the 2020-21 partially at home/partially in person school year. However, that was when the citizens of both nations were 8th graders. With the move to 7th grade for both, will the rivalry renew or become a strong partnership?
Allies: The DPRH has allies from around the United States, including Georgelandia in Michigan and Lewisonia in Texas. Both nations offered support and assistance beginning with the famed zombie infection outbreak of 2018.
The Sovereign Explorers Republic of Federated Democracies Of Meierland, AKA Meierland, AKA S.E.R.F.D.O.M. was once a territorial rival in Waunakee, yet shared common goals and objectives with a culture not unlike our own. Now with a physical buffer zone created between the two nations, a chance for long-term peace and cooperation exists.
Vice Chancellors: Despite no political power or influence being granted to any citizens except His Most Gracious Excellency Honish, a ceremonial Vice Chancellor has been named each academic year of the D.P.R.H.'s existence. The Vice Chancellor is highly regarded due to their title, but given no official responsibility.
2017-18: Vice Chancellor Morgan Rassmussen
2018-19: Vice Chancellor Blake Beam
2019-20: Vice Chancellor Evelyn Suchomel
2020-21: Vice Chancellor Logan Alton
2021-22: Vice Chacellor Lewis Bonds
2022-23: Vice Chancellor Michael Pertzborn
Honidays: It's not a typo... what a typical country would call a holiday is known as a "Honiday" in the DPRH. As we build a unique culture and society, this list is bound to change over time, but here are some basics...
Founder's Day (March 14): Celebrating the repeating 29th birthday of Supreme President Ruler Emperor and Dictator Honish, Founder's Day is a festival that includes feasting on pie (as an acknowledgement of his fondness for the dessert, but also Pi day in mathematics) and discussion of college basketball if Marquette happens to be in the NCAA tournament, college hockey if UW is in the NCAA tournament, or neither if those teams are bad that year.
Platypus Day (June 30): Celebrating the unofficial National Animal of the DPRH, the Platypus. Festivities include a day off from school (which is easy and convenient since it's summer) and watching marathons of Phineas and Ferb, one of the greatest animated series of our generation.
Constitution Day (March 11): Celebrating the Writing of the Constitution of the DPRH, Constitution Day is both a solemn reminder of the oath all students take as they enter the DPRH in September, and a patriotic celebration that acts as a primer for Founder's Day 3 days after. The stretch of March 11-14 can essentially turn into one large festival. If these dates fall within Spring Break, alternate celebrations can be arranged.
